It is Getting to be that Time Again!

Well let’s see there is the Rolex 24 Race that starts this week.
Then there is Race Week!
Then comes Bike week!!
Anyone figure out what the place I am talking about?

It actually starts something I am very fond of, I worked at
Harley Davidson Motor Company for 29 years I saw many
Fall Rides in Tomahawk come and go. In the early years I
actually drew the ticket for the the Motorcycle give away!

Now on a part time basis I travel to different Motorcycle Rally’s
around the United States and sell Leather attire to Motorcycle Enthusiasts.

I have FUN doing it! I call it a “Working Vacation”.

It is exciting meeting people from all mover the world!

I also get to work with some interesting people and get to make new friends.

The pace gets kind of hectic at times and sleep is a luxury. There are
breaks in between. Thank goodness!

Have you figured out the place I was talking about in the beginning of the post?
Daytona Beach, Florida!

I like going down to visit and work in Daytona.

If you ever get to Ormond Beach, FL
the store I work at is right across the parking lot from
Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson at Destination Daytona.
Stop by and say HI!

Or if you go to any of the Motorcycle Rallies in Sturgis,SD, Laughlin,NV,
Red River, NM, Galveston, TX, Reno, NV, Milwaukee, WI, and of course
Tomahawk, WI I might be there somewhere.

Hope you enjoyed reading this!!!

Using A Free Blogging Web Site

Here is some information on Free Blogging sites. It is
a great way to get started and if you find you don’t
like to blog you haven’t invested a lot of money into
the project.
The other thing is some people may not want to set up
the website and the blog because of the technical side
is difficult for them.

For first time bloggers, a free blogging web site is a
great way to get started in the blogosphere. Popular
blogging web sites like blogger and eponym allow users
to set up and host a blog without paying any fees at all.
This encourages people to start blogging, because the
fact that one of these sites can provide you with all of
the tools that you need to get your blog up and running
without spending any money means that you have
nothing to lose by starting a blog. The fact that it is so
easy to find a way to blog for free is one of the reasons
why so many people who have never had any other kind
of web presence before find themselves drawn to
blogging.

By signing up with a free blogging web site, you may
find it easier to get listed in search engines that you
would if you were starting your own blog from scratch.
For example, google runs the free blog hosting site
blogspot and crawls its pages very often looking for
updates, so if you have your site hosted by blogspot you
are almost guaranteed to be listed on google’s blog
search engine. This easy access to search engines can
take some of the work out of promoting your blog, and
can help you gain a following with a minimum of
marketing effort.

If your blog attracts a large readership, you may want to
consider moving your site. Many people feel that being
hosted by a free blogging web site gives a blog a kind of
amateur flavor that is fine for a new member of the
blogosphere, but is not appropriate for a high-profile
blog. Having your own domain can help you make your
blog feel professional, and finding a company that will
host your domain is not difficult or expensive. Once
your blog takes off, you will probably be able to sell
enough advertising space to be able to afford to buy a
domain and pay for a hosting package, and still have
money left over. However, it does not make sense in
most cases to invest in these glossy luxuries before you
have a sizable readership.

Starting your blog on a free blogging web site is a great
way to build a following before you spend any money
on your blog. If and when your blog becomes popular
and you are ready to take the next step and purchase
your own domain, your readers will follow you to your
new home. The fact that it is possible to use a free blog
host like blogspost, blogger, or eponym as a kind of
incubator for your blog is great news for bloggers
everywhere.

Here is one that I used in the past blogger.com
Blogger.com

Fairly easy to use and Fun too.

Personal Blogging, Documentary, and History

I thought I would give you some information on the History
of Blogging and how personal Blogging is continuing to
evolve as more and more people use their Blog.

When it comes to personal blogging, documentary is
the default genre. There are plenty of blogs that serve
other functions, but many blogs are primarily catalogues
of the life experiences of their author. Although there
are quite a few blogs that focus on collecting poetry and
other forms of creative writing, the vast majority of
personal blogs are in some sense documentaries.

For many years, the act of making a documentary was
meant to be an objective act of reporting the sights and
sounds that the filmmaker, writer, or photographer
encountered. However, in contemporary times there has
been a movement towards embracing the subjectivity
inherent in the documentary form. This means that
modern documentaries often reflect the distinctive
voice and sensibility of their creator, and the fact that
todays documentaries often revolve around personality
blurs the lines between documentary and memoir. Blogs
rest somewhere between these two genres, muddying
the distinctions even further. Personal blogging,
documentary, and memoir are now irrevocably
intertwined, for better or for worse.

Although few bloggers think of themselves as making
documentaries in any formal sense, every time
somebody sits down in front of a computer and types up
a record of their day, they are documenting their own
historical moment. The things that we take for granted
about our daily lives, like the way that we use specific
modes of transportation, or the kinds of products that
we buy, often seem quite fascinating to people who live
in circumstances different from ours, and it is this kind
of fascination that is at the heart of many documentary
projects. When people think about blogging,
documentary is not very likely to be the first adjective
that crosses their minds, but a few decades down the
road it is very likely that todays blogs will be seen
primarily as very subjective documentaries of our era.
The people of tomorrow will almost certainly look to
the blogs of today for insight into our historical
moment.

When it comes to blogging, documentary may not be
the aim of most people who spend their time posting
their thoughts and ideas on the internet. In some ways,
the documentary aspect of blogging is more of a side
effect than a primary goal. However, the fact that so
many people are interested in publishing these public
online diaries shows that personal blogs are about more
than just rumination. The fact that bloggers are so
stimulated by and interested in sharing their ideas with
each other reinforces the idea that personal blogs are, in
some ways, documentaries meant for public
consumption. Documentaries appeal to people who are
curious about other ways of life, and many people who
regularly read others personal blogs are looking for this
same kind of new perspective.

Have you ever told your Cat, “Let’s Go For A Walk!”

We want to take our cats for walks outside. They seem to be terrified to go out doors.
I found this article that explains how to accommodate your cat and get him/her use
to the outdoor environment.

Why should dogs have all the fun? Many indoor cats would love to go outside and
enjoy the sun but it is often far too dangerous to let them simply wander about as they
please. Busy roads, large dogs and careless people are hazards many of us don’t want our
cats exposed to. So why not teach him to walk on a leash?

But cats don’t walk on leashes! That’s the sentiment many people have when the
idea is first introduced. It’s true that some cats will absolutely have nothing to do with the
whole business. They apparently think it is entirely beneath them to be seen out of doors
on a leash. What would the neighbors think! Fortunately, there are other cats willing to
entertain the idea and some who actually come to like their walks. There really isn’t any
way of knowing which way your cat will turn out unless you try. Let’s get started.

The first thing you will need is a properly fitting harness and a light weight leash.
It doesn’t need to be fancy, just sturdy and well made. Trying to teach your cat with only
a collar is not a good idea. Pressure around their necks seems to make some cats freeze.
You want to teach him to move forward, not lock in place. The second thing you will
need is a bag of treats. Preferably something he really likes but doesn’t often get. The
third thing you will need is lots and lots of patience.

Begin training inside your home. Do not take him outside until he is walking
freely and comfortably along with you on his leash. Place the harness on your cat and let
him get accustomed to it. If your cat is particularly timid, you might want to leave the
harness where he can investigate it and get used to seeing it first before you put it on him.
Leave the harness on him for ten to fifteen minutes a day for the first few days. After that
the period can be raised to fifteen to twenty minutes. Give him one or two treats during
the time he is wearing the harness so that he associates it with good things. When he is
fully comfortable with the harness, add the leash in the same manner, allowing him to
drag it around for a slowly increasing period over several days. Don’t forget the treats.

By now, your cat is comfortable wearing both harness and leash. Pick up the end
of the leash and just hold it. Don’t try to lead him anywhere. Follow him around if he
moves. Do this exercise for a few minutes a day until he is comfortable with it. Now
comes the big step, teaching him to follow where you lead. Place your cat to your left
side, your leash should be in your left hand. Let your arm hang relaxed at your side. Take
a treat in your right hand. Turn toward your cat and show him the treat. Now take a
couple of step forward, continuing to show the treat. If he follows you, take a couple of
more steps. If he follows to your new position, give him his treat and praise. If he is
reluctant to move forward, place the treat closer to him. Praise him if he takes a step
forward and give him the treat. If he doesn’t want to move forward no matter what you
do, don’t drag him. Pick him up and take him somewhere else to take his harness off. Do
not give him a treat since he didn’t do as you asked. Here is where patience comes in.
Keep repeating the lesson every day, asking him to move farther each time.

When your cat is walking freely on leash with you all over the house, take him
into your back yard and walk him around in it. If he freezes and refuses to move, don’t
panic. Reassure him he is safe and take him back inside. Try again tomorrow. If he tries
to take off on his own you can easily check him with your leash. Once he is comfortable
in the yard you can start taking him farther. Before long you will be able to take nice
walks wherever you choose.

The Advantages of Neutering your Male Cat

We have two cats that live with us and they are a part of the family. One male and one female. I do believe in getting you cat Spayed or Neutered. I read this article a while back and it pretty well covers the Pros of getting your male cat Neutered.

Most male animals that are not used for breeding purposed are castrated, neutered, so that they can no longer impregnate a female. For cats especially, this is crucial, since there are hundreds of kittens every year that go without homes. There are many advantages to neutering your male cat, and the process is quite safe, so you should consider it if your furry feline friend is male and not yet neutered.

Male cats that have not yet been neutered are called tomcats. Simply put, it can be difficult to live with a tomcat, no matter how well trained he may be. When your cat is not neutered, he will want to get outside as frequently as possible to mate with female cats in heat. This can be disastrous if you live in a busy street with lots of traffic or if your cat is not used to being outdoors. Tomcats also roam a lot, meaning that they may travel far distances in search of female cats, and it is possible for your cat to roam too far and not know his way home. It is also possible for him simply to resist coming home at all, since he will be shut indoors. To protect your male cat, neutering it the best choice.

Tomcats also fight and are generally more aggressive than neutered cats. Because they want sexual dominance in a particular area, they may seek fights with other male cats to drive them away. Cats will fight to the death if they feel threatened, and fights cause not only injuries, but also the spread of diseases like the FeLV virus, which can be fatal. Neutering your cat will not stop an aggressive cat from being less aggressive toward humans, but it will prevent your cat from actively seeking fights with other male cats in the neighborhood.

Vasectomies are not done with male cats. Rather, the simple neutering procedure will remove the male reproductive organs, which are easily accessible in most tomcats. In some cases, more extensive surgery has to be done, because they have not developed and descended correctly. The removal of these organs is what causes the changing in male hormones through a cat’s body, changing the cat’s behavior. Sterilization is not enough, because the cat won’t notice the difference and will still seek to fight and mate. Your vet can tell you more about this procedure, but all in all, it is the best choice for any cat, since there are already so many homeless cats in the world.

Optimizing Your Computer?

Hi,

Besides being in Affiliate/Relationship Marketing, I also run a small Computer Repair Business
out of my home.

Today I hear many people wanting to “Optimize their Computer”. I thought most of the tools came
with the Operating System installed on your computer. Maybe Microsoft has hidden them well.

Since I do like working on computers I experiment with software to find which one works well
for me and also so I am able to recommend products to my customers that I know work well.

I have been dealing with a software company called Ashampoo.  They have some very good
products.

One product that I recommend if you really want to Optimize your PC for a reasonable price is their product
called WinOptimizer 2016.

If you want a product that does Everything, This is it! I can not explain everything that this product does,
it would take a very long time.

Here are the Highlights of WinOptimizer 2016:

Many new Tweaking Tool options
Internet Cleaner
More comprehensive Registry Optimizer
More effective Drive Cleaner
Improved One-Click Optimizer

What do I do When a Popup Box on my Computer tells me my Computer needs to be Optimized???..

Hi,

What do I do when a Popup Box tells me my computer needs to be Optimized or has a Virus?
I read it and then I close it right away. If it comes back I double check it and then I run
a Scan on my computer with Windows Defender or the installed Anti-Virus I have installed.

I have had a few people calling me telling me about this and then some of them call the
number and pay all kinds of money to get a computer fixed that is not broken.

Most of the tools to optimize your computer are already installed with your Operating System.
Some of them can be set to run and do the maintenance needed when you are not using the computer.
If you have questions ask a friend or find someone you know to help you to set this up or explain
it to you.

If you want the truth told I hate Popups or Windows that slide across your screen.

If you are having a problem with your computer. GOOGLE IT!!! I am serious.

I don’t like to see people pay large sums of money or SCAMMED out of their money
it’s Wrong!

If you do have a problem with your computer and you are not very knowledgeable
about them. Ask a friend they may know someone who is reputable and can help fix
your problem.

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Wednesday!!

Just a Thought …Where has Technology Taken Us?

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are having a Terrific Tuesday!

I thought that a break from giving info on Blogs might be a good idea.

I was just speaking with my daughter today about “Where Technology has taken us today?

Seems I remember watching TV and as a kid you could see what the imagination could do.

Many of these things would never become reality!!!

I remember a car called “Kit” on a show called Knight Rider. She could talk driver herself
and a number of different things. Well most of our cars talk to us and understand us, they
give us directions and some of them even stop before we crash into something!

Robots.. on “Lost in Space” how about the Jetsons?
Well we have robots that vacuum the house program it once and it does it’s thing.
They also have robots mowing the lawn. So much for our riding lawn mower.

When the first cell phones came out, the flip phones, I thought they resembled the
“Communicators” that Captain Kirk and the rest of the crew used on the Starship Enterprise?
I don’t know maybe just a coincidence…

I remember some of the discussions that we had when I was in High School that they
would be much too large and much too expensive for the average person to own. Seems
like the one I have today fits just fine in my pocket.

In the medical field technology has exploded! It is changing everyday!
We have out patient surgery today that we would have never dreamed of
having and going home in a few hours. We have non-evasive surgeries
with the use of robots that can do things more precise than a human!

Oh I can’t for get the Television. Black and White Rabbit Ears and tin foil
to get 3 Channels! Now I think we have 300 Channels and nothing good to
watch at times! flat Screen and living color! Who needs 3-D Glasses?!

I better quit before this gets too long and I won’t even want to read
it. LOL

I had FUN! This was just off the top of my head today and I hope you
have as much fun reading this as I did writing it!

Blogging 101

Ah! Blogging 101

A look into what a Blog is and getting some back
ground in understanding the terms and tools that
you need that make your Blog work.

Blogging 101 is mostly about the blogging
vocabulary. To understand blogs, you need to know
the terms blog, platform, domain, and web host.
Once you have mastered these key elements of
blogging, you can enter any conversation about
blogging with confidence. After you know what
exactly a blog is, you will be on your way to
passing the final exam of blogging 101.

Blog is short for weblog, which simply means a
series of online posts presented in reverse
chronological order. That’s all! Most blogs are text,
but there are also photo blogs and video blogs. The
rest of blogging 101 has to do with the technical
side of things.

If you are setting up a blog, you will
need a platform, a web host, and a domain. A
blogging platform is a computer software program
that allows you to write posts and to update your
blog. Your platform is also what you use to design
the look of your blog, from color scheme to font
size.

The web host is sort of like the virtual file
cabinet where your blog is stored. Your computer
communicates with the host when you upload or
edit a post.

The domain is the online address of
your blog, and usually ends in ‘dot com’. Now that
you know what a blog is, what a platform is, and
what domains and hosts are, congratulate yourself!

You have passed blogging 101!

Something New in Blogging

Something New in Blogging

Seems like Microsoft has come out with a Blogging Platform that people seem to like it is called the ASP.Net Blogging Software. Blogengine.net works with the Windows Operating System. Here is more Info.. I found it to be interesting and educational.   Of all of the different kinds of programs on the market today, many people feel that Microsoft's recently released ASP.NET blogging software is the most advanced. In many ways, this particular program is more adaptable and more versatile than any other blogging software on the market. Although most of the people who favor the program are accomplished coders who are familiar with programming languages like html and C++, this new program from Microsoft is much easier to use than a lot of other blog design software that incorporates hands-on coding. One of the things that makes ASP.NET stand apart from its competitors is the fact that it allows designers to use a wide variety of programming languages when they build a blog. This means that a larger number of coders can realize their dreams by programming in the language with which they are most familiar and in which they are most accomplished. Here is the link if you want to look at it: Web Blogs   A lot of people have welcomed ASP.NET blogging software with enthusiasm and with open arms. However, that doesn't mean that the ASP.NET program is right for everybody. If you are not familiar with computer languages like javascript or perl, you may find that the release of ASP.NET does not directly affect you at all.   However, if you are an experienced web designer, you are likely to find much to celebrate in this exciting new program. Here you can download BlogEngine.Net: Blogengine.Net Install
